Get Ready for Kindergarten with Miss Bindergarten and Treehouse

EarlyLearnSponsors3EarlyLearnSponsors2Making sure that children are ready for Kindergarten is a big job for parents. Treehouse Museum and the author and illustrator of the Miss Bindergarten book series have teamed up with local schools to make it easier to help children master the skills they need to start school. Together we created the Get Ready for Kindergarten with Miss Bindergarten Activity Books for parents and children to do together over the summer months. Kindergarten teachers in Davis, Ogden, Weber, Morgan, Box Elder, North Summit, Cache, Logan, and Rich School Districts have distributed bright green cinch sacks to each registering Kindergarten student. The sacks contain the 46-page Treehouse Activity Book and a copy of the original Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten paperback book. All around Northern Utah teachers and principals are encouraging families of the 14,500 children who will be starting Kindergarten in the fall of 2017 to get their materials, read the stories, and try the activities together to learn about the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, and more. Treehouse and our partners want every parent to know how to help their child prepare to start school.

Outside Circus-themed activities will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and activities inside, including magic shows and more will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for all ages that day thanks to generous funding from Weber County’s R.A.M.P. grant program. 5,000 children and grownups attended each of the annual Kindergarten Celebration Days at Treehouse held in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Here’s some pictures of the fun:

There were circus themed activities outside and inside the Museum that day as we recognized all the thousands of children who were going to school ready to learn! Miss Bindergarten herself was even there to hug her young fans.
