Family Literacy Programs

In 2014, as part of its ongoing Family Literacy efforts, Treehouse has launched the Get Ready for Kindergarten with Miss Bindergarten Initiative in cooperation with children’s book author and illustrator Ashley Wolff, author Joseph Slate, the State of Utah, Weber County RAMP, Ogden School District, Weber School District, Box Elder School District, Morgan School District, area Charter schools, and Davis County Head Start.

In 2015 the Get Ready for Kindergarten with Miss Bindergarten Initiative will reach students entering Kindergarten in every district in Northern Utah.

Keep learning and reading at home as a follow-up to your visits to Treehouse with Family Literacy at Home activities.

Treehouse offers two Family Literacy Programs each week designed to reinforce children’s literacy lessons from home and school. And, thanks to generous sponsorship from the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, the Marriner S. Eccles Foundation, and Target, admission is reduced for visitors.

Mondays from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. (September – May)
Reduced Admission: $4 for children age 1 to 5  / $2 for adults

On Track to Reading, is Treehouse’s wildly popular early childhood education program just for visitors age 1 to 5. Engaging toddlers and preschool-aged kids and their grown-ups in stories, songs, crafts and more, On Track reinforces pre-reading skills designed to get children ready for school. On Track to Reading Mondays are the perfect time to bring young children to the Museum as Treehouse does not schedule any school groups during the program and the reduced admission lasts all day.
