On Track to Reading
Our popular program for preschool-aged kids is all day Mondays, September through May. Especially for the Museum's youngest visitors, this wildly popular reading-readiness program engages toddlers and preschool-aged kids and their grown-ups in stories, songs, crafts and more, all reinforcing prereading skills designed to get children ready for school. Treehouse offers story activities at 10:30, 11:30, 1 and 2 p.m., and the Art Garden is open all day. Mondays are the perfect time to bring young children to the Museum . Treehouse does not schedule any school groups on Mondays and the reduced admission ($3 for children age 1-5 yrs. and $1 for adults age 18+) lasts all day thanks to our generous sponsors, The George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation and the Ralph Nye Charitable Foundation. Between September and May, Treehouse closes at 3 p.m. on On Track Mondays.
Note: On Track to Reading is not held on Labor Day, the Monday after Christmas, MLK Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, or in the summer -- regular admission rates apply and the Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Step on Stage
Step on Stage daily theater programs are presented weekdays at 4 p.m., September through May, and at 1 and 3 p.m. during summer months and on Saturdays. This program features a variety of interactive experinces in the performing arts including Treehouse ParticiPlays™, puppet activities, occasional performers and more. Step on Stage theater programs are included in regular admission.
Alphabet Soup
On Friday Nights at Treehouse, families can get a taste of Alphabet Soup and finish it before bedtime. This popular program focuses on a different letter of the alphabet each week with a recipe for family literacy that always includes stories and songs, theater and art, and is often flavored with science, history, vocabulary development, and more. Alphabet Soup is held on Fridays from 6 until 8 p.m., and thanks to the sponsorship of the Marriner S. Eccles Foundation, Alphabet Soup admission is only $3 for children and $1 for adults after 6 p.m.
RAMPed Up Art
Join us for RAMPed Up Art in the Treehouse Art Garden, Tuesday - Friday from 3 until 5 p.m., September through May, and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturdays and weekdays in the summertime. RAMPed Up Art features fun art projects inspired by the illustrations and stories of children's literature. The projects use a variety of mediums – paint, clay, collage, chalk, pastels, watercolor and paper – an exciting way to further explore popular and classic children's books.
